Spicy meatloaf

Polpettone piccante

Ingredients 4-6 persons

750 grams of minced beef

4 tablespoons peanut sauce or peanut butter

1 red pepper

2 spring onions

1 egg

1-2 tsp Ginger root 1-2 tsp Coriander seed ground 1-2 tsp Pimenton

Pepper and salt Breadcrumbs Oil

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

2. Crack the egg into a large bowl and add the herbs plus plenty of salt and pepper.

3. Chop the red chili pepper very finely and add it. Chop the spring onions and also add them to the egg with the herbs and chili pepper.

4. Add the minced meat to the bowl and knead everything well.

5. Add the peanut sauce or peanut butter and again knead well. Note: Because of the red pepper, juices may remain on your hands. Therefore, knead with plastic gloves on or wash your hands very well with soap afterwards.

6. Add just as much breadcrumbs until the minced meat can be formed into a "loaf" that is firm.

7. Fry the meatloaf in a cast iron pan where you have heated a generous splash of olive oil (the bottom of the pan is covered). Carefully turn the meatloaf with two spatulas. Then deglaze with half a mug of boiling water and put the pan in the oven. Cover the pan to keep the top from burning

8. Bake the meatloaf in the oven for about 40 minutes. Remove the lid or alufoil and bake the bread for another 10-15 minutes.

9. Remove the pan from the oven and wait a moment before removing the meatloaf with two spatulas. Let rest on a board and then cut slices from it.
